How can I help? Identifying and Supporting Students with Literacy Needs
Teachers often unsure what to do when faced with English learners with very low reading and writing abilities. Where should teachers start in identifying and instructing these students? Students come into our classes with varied educational backgrounds and some may be in need of explicit literacy instruction. This session examines the characteristics of students with literacy needs and provides suggestions of ways to support them in the classroom.
